Learn how to skillfully use language express yourself clearly, inspire your students and guide your class safely. Jo explains different cueing styles, trauma informed language, and supporting a neurodiverse group to make yoga practice truly accessible. She also explores how to creatively use language to bring yoga philosophy into your teaching in a way that feels authentic and how to use invitational and non hierarchical language without confusing everyone!

  • Honoring Yoga's roots while meeting modern needs

Props like the aerial hammock can help to make the physical benefits of yoga more accessible to more people - but how do we ensure we are enhancing rather than diluting or appropriating Yoga? Jo leads you through a brief history of using props in yoga and shares ways to integrate yogic philosophy into your classes. She invites you to ask questions, and to explore your intentions as a teacher as part of your own svadhyaya.

  • Moments of Self Care

Simple and effective techniques that you can do at your desk, or any time you need a mindful moment. Learn yoga asana (movements) that you can do standing or sitting to relieve common cranky spots. Pranayama (breath practices) that can help with energy, focus and relaxation. Self massage techniques to ease tension in the jaw, and even eye exercises to reduce strain. This is a fantastic workshop to sequence in as part of a long training day and can be focused around integration, grounding or revitalising.
